Small Shower Cubicles, Big Profits: What's New in the Bathroom World
This week in the bathroom industry is a study in two speeds: on one hand, manufacturers are hunting for new equipment niches; on the other, construction chemicals are proving they can turn a profit even as the rest of the building sector slows down. Here's what's changed.
01 · Shower Cubicles
Kinedo Bets on Small Footprints: The New Artemis Cubicle
British manufacturer Kinedo has expanded its range with the Artemis shower cubicle, designed for spaces where every centimetre counts – mobile homes, caravans, and modular construction [1]. This isn't a single product but a complete kit: a shower tray, a mechanical valve, a pivot door, and wall panels bundled together, available in several size variants – from a compact 800x800 mm up to 1200x800 mm [1].
This "everything in one box" approach is a response to a genuine market trend. Modular and mobile construction is growing faster than traditional single-family housing, and investors in this segment expect solutions that can be installed quickly, without picking individual components one by one. Artemis therefore fits into a broader shift in the industry: moving away from bespoke bathroom design toward ready-made, pre-tested kits that shorten build times and reduce the number of decisions contractors have to make.
It's worth watching whether other fittings and cubicle manufacturers follow suit – because if the modular market really is accelerating, demand for compact, prefabricated shower zones could become one of the more important development directions in the coming seasons.
02 · Financial Results
Selena FM Posts 35% Profit Growth – Construction Chemicals Outperform Ceramics
A very different, though equally significant, signal for the industry came from Wrocław. Selena FM, a construction chemicals group best known for its Tytan Professional brand, published its results for the first half of 2026 [2]. Consolidated revenue reached PLN 962.7 million, while net profit rose to PLN 58.3 million – up from PLN 43.2 million a year earlier, an increase of around 35% [2].
That's a result worth setting against the overall condition of the construction industry, which was far from its best in the first half of 2026. While sanitary ceramics and tile manufacturers struggled with slowing demand during this period, the segment of foams, silicones, and sealants – products essential at every stage of bathroom finishing – clearly improved its profitability [2]. This shows that not every link in the bathroom supply chain reacts to a slowdown in the same way: "invisible" materials that are nonetheless essential to every installation can keep growing even when investment in new ceramic collections is being postponed.
For finishing companies and distributors, that's a signal not to judge the health of the "bathroom industry" by a single averaged indicator – it's worth distinguishing between segments, since they can be moving in completely different directions.
Summary
Summary
This week showed two faces of the industry: product innovation aimed at smaller, modular spaces, and hard financial data confirming that construction chemicals are holding up well even in a tougher market environment. Both threads – new product formats and the condition of individual supplier segments – are exactly what you'll be able to discuss in person at Warsaw Home Bathroom – the International Bathroom Equipment Fair.
